If you dropped $85 on the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and would like to keep it looking fresh, you may want to pick up a dedicated travel case. There's actually an officially licensed controller case made by RDS Industries that popped up on Amazon shortly before the Switch 2's launch. Available in a Zelda-themed edition or standard black, the RDS Game Traveler Deluxe Controller Case is up for grabs for $20 at Amazon.
The hardshell carrying case is compatible with both generations of the Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Con with grip attachments. You can also use it with a bunch of different third-party controllers; we highlighted some notable gamepads we've tested with the case at the bottom of this story.
If you want a Zelda-themed controller for your Tears of the Kingdom carrying case, there are a few third-party options from PowerA and Hori that will work with the case. Unfortunately, the official Tears of the Kingdom-themed Pro Controller is long gone--at least for its original $75 price. You can get preowned units from Amazon Renewed for around $90 or a new one from Amazon (sold by Amazon Japan) for $120.

All five of the 8BitD controllers below, including the superb Ultimate 2 Bluetooth--my current top pick for Switch 2--can be stored in the RDS Industries carrying case. That said, 8BitDo also has a pair of carrying cases. The $20 model is designed for the Ultimate series, while the $15 edition is for the Pro 2 (and upcoming Pro 3). Both models will work with the Switch 2 Pro Controller, but it's worth noting that these cases don't recessed inserts or elastic straps, so your controller will rattle around a bit. Both cases have mesh compartments for small accessories.
Heads up: Amazon does have a pretty great deal on the original 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller bundled with the $20 carrying case that drops the price to only $45.
In addition to the pair of 8BitDo controller cases, another popular option is Scuf's Universal Controller Protection Case for $15. Scuf's hardshell case has a soft, recessed base and works well with Switch Pro Controllers.
The way to survive in modern society is to be an ascetic. It is to retreat from society. There’s too much society everywhere you go…The only solution is turn it off.
